Last week we worked on Tessellations. A Tessellation is a shape that links into a copy of that shape, or another shape. The law of Tessellation is that when they link there must be no gaps, so therefor a circle is not a tessellating shape. We used the cut and take method, using a 7.5cm2 piece of card. The method involves cutting a section from the square and joining it on the opposite side of the square. Here is a picture of my Tessellation:

Writing: Optimist Yachting Safety Guide
Today I finished my writing I had been doing for a few days. It is a safety checklist for optimist yachting. My task was to create an optimist yachting safety guide that is easy for someone who hasn't done optimist yachting before. I hope you like it.

A few weeks ago all of the year 6 students had the choice to go to a scavenger hunt. We went round Havelock North completing tasks on a worksheet. After the Scavenger Hunt, my class, Room 5, decided to write "Newspaper Articles" about the event. Here is the one I did.
